Code Of Conduct



This code applies to all 10dem community members which includes 10dem team members, 10dem online portal members, host and guest institution members of immersive tours, immersive exchange tours and virtual exchanges including teachers, students, principals, as well as, other third parties contracted by 10dem Education from time to time.

Responsibilities

All 10dem Community members are expected to:

  • Conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner and act in compliance with the applicable policies and laws;
  • Recognise and respect the rights of others;
  • Act appropriately at all times and ensure that personal behaviour does not contribute to inappropriate conduct by others;
  • At no time use threatening behaviour and harassment, obscenity, compromise someone’ privacy and safety;
  • Comply with this Code of conduct.

Tour Supervising Teachers and Tour Leaders are expected to:

  • Uphold this code at all times;
  • Lead the implementation of this Code of Conduct within their setting;
  • Model exemplary conduct by demonstrating the values and principles of good behavior;
  • Communicate high expectations for the way in which students and other tour attendees conduct themselves;
  • Provide a safe, secure and supportive learning environment;
  • Request any person acting in any offensive or disorderly way to mind their behavior or leave the premises, and if necessary, as an authorised person, direct them to do so;
  • Call the police if a person fails to follow a direction to demonstrate the behavior not in alignment with the code and which may severely affect the safety and well-being of others around the person and the person himself/herself.
  • Ensure no incidents of bullying, harassment, privacy infringement, or violent conduct take place during the tour.

Teachers and 10dem staff are expected to:

  • Uphold this code at all times;
  • Work in partnership with students, parents, carers, and other collaborating institutions to enhance the learning outcomes and support the well-being and conduct of all students;
  • Communicate high expectations for the learning achievement and conduct to their students;
  • Ensure consistency and fairness in interactions with all members of the community;
  • Ensure that personal behaviour does not contribute to inappropriate conduct of others;
  • Identify factors that may contribute to inappropriate conduct and actively devise strategies to minimise these.

Students are expected to:

  • Uphold this code at all times;
  • Participate actively in their education program;
  • Take responsibility for their conduct and learning;
  • Demonstrate respect for themselves, other members of the education community and their learning environment;
  • Learn and interact in a cooperative and courteous manner;
  • Respect and comply with all guidelines and requests made by their institution and other collaborating institutions, 10dem tour leader, and accompanying teachers;
  • Agree to abide by the requirements for access and acceptable use of information communication technology as advised by teachers and 10dem Education in relation to 10dem programs and projects.

Parents/caregivers and other third party community members are expected to:

  • Uphold this code at all times;
  • Work positively in partnership with the institution and 10dem team to ensure safety and well-being of all students;
  • Contribute positively to behaviour, academic and other personalised support plans;
  • Support the well-being, safety, and conduct of students;
  • Support staff in maintaining a safe, secure and respectful learning environment for all students.
  • Respect and comply with reasonable requests or directions of the 10dem tour leader, teachers, and other supervising members of 10dem community;
  • Agree to abide by the requirements for access and acceptable use of information communication technology as advised by teachers and 10dem Education in relation to 10dem programs and projects.
  • Respect data privacy and never use the data and information gained from 10dem resources and/or which may also have information about others, without obtaining explicit permission from 10dem Education.

Purpose

10dem Education is committed to respecting human rights and protecting the safety and welfare of all persons in all of its programs and projects.

This Code of Conduct outlines the responsibilities of all 10dem community members which includes 10dem team members, 10dem online portal members, host and guest institution members of immersive tours, immersive exchange tours and virtual exchange including teachers, students, principals, as well as, other third parties contracted by 10dem Education from time to time to behave appropriately and positively to prevent or minimise non-compliant and aggressive behaviours.

10dem Education will not tolerate purposeful violence on any of their programs, projects or premises.

Everyone, including all 10dem staff, teachers, students, parents, carers, third party member, and visitor have a right to:

  • To be treated with dignity, courtesy and respect.
  • Participate in education environment that are safe, secure and free from bullying, harassment, discrimination and violence.
  • Report any complaints to 10dem team at 10dem.tours@gmail.com anytime.
  • Expect that complaints will be dealt with respectfully, transparently and meaningfully.
  • Expect that privacy will be respected at all times, unless authorised.
